I must admit I almost feel guilty taking credit for the images coming out of this little plastic camera. I have great respect for those that can command a complete understanding of aperture, shutter speed, film speed, light meters and other things that I have only base knowledge of. Someday I hope to find the time to immerse myself in learning these technical aspects of photography but at this moment I'm completely lomo-obsessed. To get results like the ones I'm getting now with such ease seems like a cheat. But really, I can't help but fall in love with the distinctive style that shots taken with this camera acquire. The subtle vignette, soft focus, blurring around the edges and overall dreamlike quality just blow me away.
I took a trip with milkpill and a friend on Wednesday to an abandoned air force station in Brookfield, OH on wednesday and filled up 2 rolls of film there, one black and white and one color. I can barely wait to get these images back and as soon as I do they'll be up in my gallery. There's also an abandoned saw mill around where we live that we might check out soon, and I really like the idea of a horror themed photoshoot. I'm just dying to take some really bizarre, creepy, and dark images with this camera and to test out some of the colored flash filters in the process.
Though I've come close before, this is the first journal I've put up in four years as DA member, I just had to gush about this awesome little camera!
